RedTech Creates New SharePoint Tool for Microsoft®

GEAR Up launches March 3 at Microsoft Office SharePoint Conference 2008

Bellevue, WA - Feb. 28, 2008 – A new SharePoint tool, commissioned by Microsoft and built by Redmond Technology Partners (RedTech), will be unveiled during the Microsoft Office SharePoint Conference 2008 slated for March 3-6 at the Washington State Trade and Convention Center.

Four thousand attendees are expected at the sold-out conference, which will kick off with opening remarks by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

The GEAR Up tool created by Bellevue-based RedTech will be introduced during a keynote address on day one of the conference and also featured in a break-out session presented by Microsoft’s SharePoint group along with RedTech’s SharePoint team members, Ryan Gachet and Dave Page. RedTech’s team made up of developers and information architects built the tool over the past eight weeks working with the Microsoft group.

GEAR Up is a free, Web-based tool designed to help business managers and IT professionals create acceptance and generate end-user excitement around SharePoint deployments in companies large and small. It was built using substantially out-of-the-box functionality, including the software’s default publishing template. A small amount of script enhances some navigation abilities and demonstrates how easily simple additions can be accomplished during deployment.

GEAR Up effectively showcases SharePoint’s tremendous versatility as an integrated suite of business tools – without looking like a typical SharePoint deployment. The tool provides a full complement of hands-on resources for professionals involved in planning and implementing SharePoint deployments – from the initial ROI analysis and business justification through system design, adoption and end user training.

Interested professionals can access GEAR Up on the Microsoft Web site:
